She is the senior member of the Optometry team. She continues to work at as a Contact Lens practitioner at Moorfields Eye Hospital regularly on Wednesdays and so brings exceptional expertise to the Optometry team. She also runs Vision Care for Homeless People a charity dedicated to proving eye care and glasses for homeless and other vulnerable people in some of the UK’s larger inner cities.

She and Daska share a special heritage, having both being trained and worked at the same Practice in Newcastle upon Tyne, albeit 25 years apart. Farida has a special interest in paediatric Optometry and is well known to the many children who visit Specs of Kensington. Farida is currently away on Maternity leave.

When not at Specs of Kensington she works on a part-time basis at Moorfields Eye Hospital for a corneal surgeon who specialises in Refractive Laser Surgery, Cataracts and Keratonconus Treatments. In her own time she is studying towards gaining an Ophthalmic Doctorate furthering her qualifications with a higher degree. Her approachable manner and great warmth make her a very welcome addition to our Optometry team.

Lavinia graduated in 1999 as a Medical Biochemist and joined Moorfields Eye Hospital, Institute of Ophthalmology, where her research into "Angiogenesis and Drug Resistance in Uveal Melanoma" resulted in the publication of two papers. She then graduated as an Optometrist from City University in 2002. Soon after, she was awarded the 'Stephen Dawson prize for Clinical Excellence' from the Institute of Optometry, London. She achieved membership to the College of Optometrists in 2003. She is also a member of the General Optical Council and the Association of Optometrists. As well as being in practice, Lavinia also lectures and teaches at the Institute of Optometry and City University. In her spare time Lavinia is an international Gold Bar Medalist in Ballroom and Latin dancing!

Prinal has recently joined the Optometry team
Prinal has recently joined the Optometry team at Specs of Kensington. She initially graduated as a Dispensing Optician in 2006 and went onto study further to graduate as an Optometrist from City University in 2008. She is also qualified to work in Australia and New Zealand. Prinal has a keen heart and is keen to ‘give back’. She has undertaken a teaching and outreach project with Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) in Ethiopia, fundraised in a Neon glow run for RNIB and Skydived for VAO. Professionally she a variety of experience ranging from working within domiciliary care, high street Optometry, Glaucoma clinics and teaching Final Year Optometry students at City University. She is currently a member of the College of Optometrists, Association of Optometrists and General Optical Council. Outside of work, Prinal is a keen foodie, photographer, traveller and loves new experiences, even shark diving!

We are delighted to welcome Dr Zahra Jessa to the Optometry Team at Specs of Kensington. Zahra has joined us on a part time basis and brings a fantastic skill set to our services. Her PhD was gained in studies into Correctable Low Vision and she has a particular interest in the care of older people, working in the Cataract, Low Vision and Macular Degeneration Services at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She is also a part time Consultant at the Royal National Institute for the Blind, involved in their Learning Disability and Dyslexia clinics. She won the Moorfields Star Award in 2013, was a London Ambassador and Torchbearer at the London 2012 Olympics and in 2010 was awarded the 'Professional of the Year' at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.

With over Fifteen years optical experience, Nimisha has a special interest in ophthalmic lens design and also a keen interest in pediatric dispensing and brings exceptional technical expertise to the team. Her professionalism ensures Specs has up to-date product knowledge as soon as new lenses or optical materials become available.

Kamila is a fully qualified Dispensing Optician and is a very welcome addition to the Dispensing Team at Specs of Kensington. Her special interest is bespoke prescription sports eyewear. Kamila has over ten years optical experience and has worked in a range of dispensing environments. She is fluent in Czech and is also a qualified nutritionist! In her spare time she enjoys Yoga and swimming.
Deividas (David) Chomicius joins our team of fully qualified Dispensing Opticians
He brings abroad range of skills to the team having started his career with degree in Management and Business Administration and with experience of industries from IT to hospitality.
He has been in the world of Optics since 2010, starting his optical career as a lab technician, so brings enhanced technical expertise to our professional team, meaning more technical repairs can be carried out at our premises, improving our service and efficiency for our customers and Patients. He is fluent not only in English but also Russian and Lithuanian.
David is a true gentleman, warm and kind in his approach and handles working with 12 women with genuine grace!
